Purpose of Legislation:

a) To protect consumers

b) obligation or manufacturers and service providers to follow certain regulations and procedures- follow certain regulations and procedures- to ensure businesses are run with justice, transparency, honesty, respect and good manners

Consumer Rights: SCMT

A) Safety and Security
B) Clarity of information
c) Making Decision
D) To be heard/to file a report

Relating to remember: If a girl feels safety and security from someone, then of cz she needs to clarify the information received, after clarifying, then of cz a decision needs to be reached, and tata, after that.. hmm.. to be heard and to file a report hardly relates (file a report to who wor?), but its one of the 4 steps, so yea.. its there =D

Malaysian Law- FOUR STEPS IN LAW MAKING PROCESS

1) Formulation of Acts - Department/Ministry(proposal to be presented by Minister)
2) Debate -Parliament(Elected Representatives)
3) Approval (Parliament)
4) Announcement (Majesty)

1) Trade Description Act 1972 - Got two lor, one is Usage of Halal, one is Food Labelling
2)Food Act 1983 & Food Regulations 1985
3) Custom Act 1967 - Prohibition of Imports

..... Wah summore got a lot leh.. lazy to type out..

But most important is that Food Analysis Act and Halal & Haram Food Act- Former is final stage, latter is proposal lor... =D

Why the approval of act is necessary leh?

1) To ensure food produced and claimed halal is really halal and authentic

2) To avoid adulteration and cheating in the process of preparation, distribution and trade of halal product

3) To efficiently monitor and enforce the trade of halal food

Relating to remember: Sket ppl cheat mar, if got law then ppl will get sket, so they will ensure that food produced really halal if wana claim the halal logo, then to avoid them cheating lor in p.d.t of halal product, and also to efficiently monitor and enforce( monitor and enforce always exist when it comes to law.. no running away! )
